Threatened Mallee Birds
Vulnerable bird species that rely on mallee vegetation will benefit from this project as it improves important habitat across five priority areas.
By targeting habitat critical to the endangered Mallee Bird Ecological Community, species such as the Mallee Emu-wren, Red-lored Whistler and Mallee Whipbird will have the chance to thrive in an improved landscape with increased climate resilience.
Key actions include revegetation and invasive species management to restore vital biodiversity linkages and help species move across the landscape.
This project is funded by the Australian Government’s Natural Heritage Trust and delivered by the Mallee CMA, a member of the Commonwealth Regional Delivery Partners Panel.
